Please spark joy by releasing the oddball gifts you’ve wondered what to do with, styles you’ve outgrown, and all the white elephant fails of the last few weeks. Don’t let that stuff sit around until next year – bring it over on January fourth.
The Only Rhino* party seeks to refill the bingo table at CDM day center and to provide clothing for clients who might need some different threads.
Bring it all : we’ll sort it out – everything that CDM does not use will cycle to Share House or to ReTails.
S0 don’t wait – move some stuff through your life. Start now and plan to join in with folks on January 4th as we create flow and share our prosperity with our neighbors and friends. (yes, I have been known to hug a tree.)

Ok _but why the only rhino?
Capturing the holiday joy of white elephant parties is where this idea started. A “black rhino party” was a quick leap but I realized I knew very little about rhinos at all. However as I write, the world got a timely gift on December 24, 2019. A few hours ago a male black rhino was born in Lansing, Michigan. Pretty far from Africa where his genes originated.
2019 also saw the demise of the sumatran rhino in Malaysia. That’s it. No more sumatran rhinos in that country. The beasts could not cope with the separation forced on them by our developing human needs. They surely could not survive the criminal pressure of poachers. Isolation and setting things by to “do tomorrow or the next day” is easy but not wholly adequate to truly thrive. Ask a rhino – but not in Malaysia.
Still…I don’t get it: why the only rhino?
Well, like the rhinos some of us are far from home, isolated, cutoff or living among others in ways that still leave us feeling we are alone.
Your gifts will take that empty edge off for a lot of people.
So – why not start out 2020 with others of our species in a spirit of sharing, caring and goofing off…. we can make an art of all of that if we try together.
